Community Grants and Sponsorships Genentech is committed to sustaining and strengthening the communities in which we live and operate. We are implementing this commitment through a localized strategy that supports project-specific grants to nonprofits of mutual interest to Genentech.
An example of a project supported by a Genentech community grant is the San Mateo Public Library Foundation's new Biotechnology Learning Center at the San Mateo Public Library.
In addition, Genentech offers corporate sponsorships that reflect our targeted local community relations. We sponsor Genentech employee involvement and volunteerism in support of causes that are of the greatest concern to the communities in which we live and operate and that develop and maintain strong relationships with our local civic organizations, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations and government agencies.
An example of a community event supported by a Genentech sponsorship is the South San Francisco Day in the Park.
