2007 Sustainability Report This report provides a summary of Genentech's environmental sustainability and employee health, safety and wellness performance for 2007 and commitments for 2008.
- It builds on the information presented in the 2005/2006
Sustainability Report, expanding the scope to include a
sustainability strategy and governance section, greenhouse
gas emissions from employee commuting, and additional
data on waste and recycling.
- In this report, we also describe how our sustainability
strategy has evolved during 2007, what our commitments
are for 2008 and how we are progressing against our 2010
sustainability goals.
- The statements and data contained in this report have
been verified by Bureau Veritas Certification.
Recent News
On September 22, 2008, Genentech was recognized as a corporate sustainability leader among healthcare companies and included as a component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes track the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide following a best-in-class approach. The annual review of the DJSI is based on a thorough analysis of corporate economic, environmental and social performance, assessing issues such as corporate governance, risk management, branding, climate change mitigation, supply chain standards and labor practices.
