Genentech Gives Back Week 2012

June 11th, 2012

Now in its third year, Genentech Gives Back Week (June 11 - 16, 2012) is a unique opportunity for Genentech employees to support the communities where we live and work.

As an organization and as individual employees, we have been committed to using our resources, both financial and human, to contribute to the best interest of patients, the medical profession and the communities in which we work.

We're grateful for all of our partnerships with local non-profits who've dedicated their time and support. Work hard. Play hard. Give back.

Partner Organizations

Each organization listed below receives goods, services and/or money from at least one of the Genentech Gives Back events.

Gives Back Week Programs

Share Your Meal

Employees can add a donation when they purchase a meal, snack, etc from the Genentech cafes. Donations go to the North Peninsula Neighborhood Services Center, North County Soluntions for Change, the Vacaville Storehouse, and the Oregon Food Bank.

Bay to Beakers Children's Walk

Genentech donates $25 on behalf of every employee (up to $100,000) to two important children's causes: Roche's efforts to support children orphaned as a result of AIDS in Malawi and At the Crossroads, a not-for-profit organization that conducts outreach to homeless youth and teens in San Francisco's Mission and Downtown/Tenderloin neighborhoods.

Summerfest Auction & Nonprofit Expo

Genentech employees bid on live auction items, purchase raffle tickets and meet representatives from a wide variety of local nonprofits. One hundred percent of the proceeds raised at Summerfest benefit the organizations at the expo.

Volunteer Days

More than 2600 Genentech employees volunteered with local non-profits on Wednesday and Friday of Gives Back Week.

Donation Drive

Genentech employees are encouraged to donate new to gently-used needed educational supplies, clothing, personal items, food and much more for local nonprofit organizations.

Benefit Concert & Auction

Genentech Gives Back Week culminates in the Benefit Concert and Auction at AT&T Park. Proceeds from the on-site silent auction, plus concert T-shirt and hat sales will benefit Operation Access, a local non-profit organization.
